Q: Differin Gel ???
Differin Gel makes my skin so so dry!! I use that daily before bed time, should I use lotion on before I put on Differin Gel or after?? Thank you

A: Use the Differin at night, then in the morning after you wash your face apply a light moisturizer. I had the same trouble when I used Differin a few years back, and found this helped.

Q: Differin gel?
I got prescribed Differin gel, 0.3% today, I don't have SEVERE acne, but it can get pretty bad. I just want to hear some results other people had and how fast you noticed a change in your skin! Thanks!

A: It will take maybe a week but you will definitely notice results, make sure you put it on religiously twice a day after washing your face. Even if you don't notice after a week, keep it up, differin is great, cleared my face up! ( I also got prescribed benzaclin to use with it, but i ran out and differin has worked just as well)

Q: differin gel?
out of nowhere my face has been breaking out really bad.The dermatoligist prescribed me Differin gel but my face is just getting worse then it was before.IS this normal and when does my face start getting better? and what are some other things i can use to treat my acne that wokrd good and quick? thanks :-) ya i use it only at night. The doctor said it might get worse before it gets better but its been a month already that ive been using it.at first it started working and dried out my skin really bad.and now my skin is oily and it doesnt seem to be working.i wash my face in the morning and night and maybe once in the day if its really oily.

A: wow i am surprised this happen with u. i love differin gel. i suffered bad skin almost all my life and i started using this product last year and i have never broken out. Do you wash your face in the morning or nite. at nite is the best time to apply differin gel, if you get sun exposure it will irriate your face. If you do apply only before bed, than maybe your skin didnt react to it like its suppose to. im sorry this happen to you. i cant tell you what works best coz i truly thought this product was best. maybe try to bare with it and eventually you will see better results. just be patient with it. It worked instantly with me.

Q: Im using Differin Gel and I want to stop?
Ive been using Differin Gel for a couple of years now. My skin seems under control, but I figure I cant be on the med for ever.. My question is do I have to ween myself off the Differin on can I just quit cold turkey. Will my skin change after I stop? Any help would be appreciated Thanks.

A: If your hormonal status is such that you are no longer having "highs and lows", and you appear to be over your acne stage, then it would be ok to stop the medicine. On the other hand, remember that the retinoids, such as Differin, RetinA, etc, act as anti-wrinkle agents. So, do you really want to stop it? Why not use it indefinitely?

Q: Can anyone tell me if you can use oxytetracycline oral antibiotic and differin gel at the same time?
i have been prescribed differin gel for pitted scars by my dermatologist.i havent used it yet but now i have now a case of perioral dematitis flaring up (around the mouth) since i last had it 14 years ago. can i use them both at the same time? also can anyone tell me what can actually be causing this flare up? and can you actually use differin around the eyes?

A: You shouldn't get any medication near your eyes. It might not make you go blind, but it won't be pleasant, either. You should be able to use both medications at the same time, as long as the instructions and interaction warnings don't advise against it. Every time my dermatologist has prescribed an antibiotic, he prescribed a topical to go with it. To be safe, ask the pharmacist.

Q: What was your experience with the Differin Gel?
i went to the dermatologist and he said i had blackheads which were the earliest sign of acne you can have. he said to prevent it from getting worse that he would prescribe me differin gel. none of my friends have had this or anything. so what are your past experiences with this.

A: it worked well for me

Q: Does anyone know of a website that sells Generic Differin Gel (Adapalene) without a prescription?
I am looking for inexpensive generic differin gel (Adapalene) for less than $50/ 30grams WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION. Does anyone know of a reputable online pharmacy with good prices? Please include URL/link. Thanks! I do not have insurance so please do not tell me to see a doctor. It would cost me hundreds. I have acne.

A: Hello, You can to buy Generic Differin Gel (Adapalene) without a prescription here: http://www.fdamedsonline.com/norx/Differin.shtml

Q: how long does it take for differin gel to start working?
i was prescribed differin gel 1 week ago, my doctor said it would start to work in 3 weeks, will it start to work in 3 weeks? what happens, i dont understand how it can just all of a sudden start to work?

A: Usually, you can see a difference overnight. It should dry up the affected area so they are less red and swollen. To clear up the entire affected region, like your doctor said, would take around 3 weeks. If you can't see any significant difference, either: a) Your skin type isn't suitable for the medicine b) Your using too much/too little It doesn't just all of a sudden start to work, give it a couple hours (overnight). Good luck! <3

Q: Is differin gel able to be used if it was stored at a low temperature?
I left my differin gel in the car overnight and it got down to about 35 degrees. I realized it and I got it out of the car - it did not freeze but it was stored at a low temperature for approximately 12 hours. Will this have any impact on the medicine's effectiveness, should I use it? Thanks,

A: Differin (Adapalene) for your acne should be fine. There's no reason why differin gel at low temperature should freeze up; as it contains alcohol in minute amts if any. Other effective topical acne meds are retinoid, Retin metragel; or tazorac. Good Luck!

Q: Anyone on Differin Gel or have been please share your experience?
I am in my 3rd week and I see more and more popping up I know this is the process of differin to pull everything under the surface. Please gve me your thoughts!

A: Here are two different people's testimonies on their experiences with differin: http://www.viewpoints.com/Differin-30gm-x-0-1-gel-reviews Good luck!

Q: I use differin gel...it expired 4 months ago but I still have a whole tube left. Will it still work?
I use differin gel... it expired 4 months ago but I still have a whole tube left. Is it still safe to use, will it still work, and how much longer can I use it

A: Different drugs have different actions after they expire. With it it being a Gel, its probably not stable after the expiration date. You can use it, but it's probably not gonna do much.

Q: Do I use moisturizer before or after I use Differin Gel?
I've been washing my face, applying Olay lotion for sensitive skin, and then the Differin. One of my friends just told me that I should be using the Differin before moisturizer.... Help! Thanks!

A: I use differin! That stuff works! I usually put my moisturizer on before the Differin and then wait for the moisturizer to sink into my skin before putting on the Differin. Differin can really dry out your skin so it IS important to keep your face moisterized!

Q: whats better to use differin gel or creme to get rid of scars?
my doctor gave me the option to pick which one to use. any suggestions? and how long did it take to go away and how much did u use it? or how good is finacea to use? ps- my skin is really smooth. and i barely have any pimples anymore. so its just really the scars that ive had since november that im trying to get rid of so if you tried anything and you have skin like mine or the same issue. pleaaaase tell me what you did!

A: i had really bad acne but i was prescribed differin cream 0.1% 3 months ago. my acne is almost gone but i still have red "spots" also know as the scarring of the acne. so i went to the doctors today and she gave me differin GEL and deoxycline. so to answer ur question, im not really sure. i would say either one, just keep on using it. they will go away eventually. if i had to pick, i would suggest the GEL only because its stronger. but if u want ur scarring to go away i suggest going to the doctors and requesting deoxycline. They r pills that fade awat acne scars and kill bacteria. hope this helps! good luck

Q: should i stop using Differin gel for my acne?
i've been on Differin for about 2 months and a half now and my face has never looked worse. im breaking out EVERYWHERE. i know its supposed to make your acne worse before it gets better but ive been using it for quite a while now. is it time to switch products or should i wait and see what happens?

A: yeah, i was prescribed differin as a night cream to put on but i found it didnt work well and that the other stuff they gave me worked better alone. Its up to you, go see a dermatologist and see what they think you should do

Q: Does Differin gel make acne worse before it gets better?
Just wondering if my acne will get worse before it starts working, and when it will start working.

A: most likely, yeah. but not that bad. I remember when i first got the gel i was thinking this is never going to work i tryed everything! I had horrible acne. but now like 8 months later my face is clear for the most part. maybe a few pimples here and there but they never like they were before :) All i have to say is it takes time, dont forget a day or else you will brake out, and just wait patiently i think you will get real results in like 3 or 4 months. ALSO if you get cracky skin or alot of dry skin my dermatoligist gave me Nuetrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser. it works ahhh mazing with wicked dry skin like i had. Your dry skin will go away in no time with that. Only took me like a day. So definitely get that :) hope i helped!! xx steph.
