A: My favorite is Aveeno Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser. It is very gentle & works well. I picked it up while on Accutane & continue to use it today.
Q: Can you mix Retin A cream with anyother cream?
I've been given Retin A for acne by my doctor. It's causing my face to become very dry so is it a good idea or the Retin A would be effective if i mix it with any other cream, such as oil of olay?

A: I would apply the Retin A, wait for a few minutes and then apply the oil of olay over the top. Not sure it would be a good idea to actually mix them together.

I have been using Tretinoin for about one week to treat acne. My skin is now breaking out all over, with timy red bumps AND big zits. Has anyone used this and can give recommendations? Did it work for you? If so, how long was this "it has to get worse before it gets better" phase?
A: I've been using it for over a year now and can't do without it.My skin got worst the first 2-3 weeks.Just give it a brake for 1-2 days to calm the redness but don't give up on the cream yet.For full results you must use it for about 3-6 months.I never had a clear skin in my life before.Now blackheads are gone,my pores are smaller an no acne.I even noticed a few fine lines gone.Keep it up,it will pay off

I won't use retin-a on my actual lips, but will using it on my upper lip help get rid of the darkly pigmented skin in that area? If not, what will?
A: I'm not sure but there are skin lightening creams (such products as Meladerm, SkinBright) that lighten dark discolored areas on the skin.

A: it depends how sensitive your skin is...gel tends to be a lot stronger.

A: It is not known if this drug is excreted in human milk. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk, caution should be exercised when administered to a nursing woman. I would either talk to your doctor or even a pharmacist just to be sure.
Q: Whats the best Retin-A cream to help acne and acne scars?
Whats the best perscribed Retin-A and the best non-perscription Retin-A? I've been using Retin-A Micro and it helps a little but I wanted to find something that I can get without a perscription thats just as strong or stronger. I also heard about Green Cream, has anyone tried this? Its pretty expensive but it is a strong Retin-A cream.
A: You won't find anything stronger than the original Retin-A
prescription medicine. It does, however, come in 2 or 3 different strengths. Now that the patent has expired, generic Retin-A is available at a much lower cost than the original.
Other than that, there are creams with retinol (related, but not the same). A decent OTC cream with this ingredient is Alpha-Hydrox.

A: It is use for the treatment of acne as well as clear red marks, scars as well as wrinkles. It does so by peeling your skin which in simple terms exfoliation.
If it is your initial use of Retin-A, you will find your skin getting red and sore like a sunburn. This is because Retin-A peels your face. A: Actually, you can use it on the feet. I always use Retin A Cream on my feet....in fact I use it all over. But it can be drying, so I apply pure jojoba oil over the top.

Q: My skin is peeling from retin-a cream (maybe). Should I stop using it?
I have been using retin-a for about 4 months now, and I use it every other day. My skin never peeled like this before from it, but recently its been peeling and breaking out really badly.
I don't know what's causing it; maybe stress? hormones? the retin-A acne medication?
What should I do? I really don't want to stop using the cream it used to work really well for me before all these shenanigans.
A: The same thing happened to me! I just talked to my dermatologist and she had me switch to a lower strength. For now, just use a little less when applying it. And make sure you moisturize with lotion, I use Cetaphil and I highly recommend it. Good luck!
