Q: Is Tazorac Gel stronger than Tazorac Cream?
I've been using Tazorac cream for many months and it has totally cleared up the acne on my forehead! Unfortunately, I still get it on the rest of my face. Is Tazorac Gel stronger than the Cream? Do you think I should try it? I

A: No they are the same medication in a different "vehicle"- the gel is probably better for acne prone skin.

Q: Difference between tazorac gel and cream?
i have been using tazorac gel for a 6 months and it clear my face, it wasted yesterday and i cant get a refill till january 14, but now am using the tazorac cream, does it work? and am i going to breakout again?

A: The active ingredient is the same. Assuming that you have the same strength (they come as both 0.05% and 0.1%), the gel is a bit stronger working than the cream, but also a bit more irritating. However, since you've been doing well on the gel, I"m sure you'll do fine with the cream.

Q: IS accutaine and tazorac cream ok together?
Will it be ok to use tazorac cream and acctaine together and will i get better results with this then tazorac cream and an antiobotic?

A: Ask your doctor! I don't think that you are supposed to use ANY other acne treatment when you are using Accutane. Just be patient and give it time for work, it is pretty successful.

Q: whats the diffrence between tazorac gel and cream?
i been using tazorac gel since july and it clear my face up but i be red, but now am using the tazorac cream and it doesnt make me red, is the cream going to make me break out?

A: Tazorac gel is a little stronger and more irritating than the cream. The cream should be able to maintain the clearance that you have now. If you have more acne, ask your doc for something in addition to the Tazorac since the gel irritated you.

Q: Is it normal for your acne to get worse when you first start using tazorac cream?

A: Tazorac cream does help reduce inflammation of acne by keeping the skin pores clear. What you need to do is be sure that you wash your face and applying afterwards when dry. Check with your doctor if there is still no improvement after a month of continuous daily application. There might be a case that you are allergic to one of the ingredients.

Q: is it usual to have dead skin anroung ur pimple if ur using Tazorac cream for acne?
it just like a circle aroung the pimples? isent it sopose to be like that?

A: Yes. It dries out every part of you skin.

Q: Can Tazorac cream be used for tattoo removal?
(it is a retinol cream that can cause layers of the skin to peel off)

A: No. Tattoo ink consist of particles of metal, carbon and dyes injected into the skin. No cream of any sort can do anything about it. Dermatological lasers can help, but it depends on the color as to how faded they can make them. Surgical removal of course, but that's pretty drastic.

Q: difference between tazorac cream and gel and the % of the medication?
the is 0.1% cream and gel and 0.05% cream and gel what is the strongest and is the cream bad i am now on the cream 0.05% do you think it will work?

A: The one that has 0.1% is stronger than 0.05%. In fact it has twice as much active ingredient. It may work. It works for some people.

Q: Has anyone ever used "Tazorac" cream for acne, and not quit using it due to side effects?
I hear your face could get red and dry, but that is a way to tell the medication is working.

A: It takes about 4 months for you to see total results and for your skin to become completely accustomed to the medication. Patients typically see the most peeling and sensitivity during the first month. Tazorac is generally reserved for patients with the oiliest skin types because it is so drying. It can sometimes help to back off on the frequency of application -- to every other night until your skin becomes more accustomed to the medicine. It also helps to apply a moisturizer before you apply the Tazorac -- and be sure to not apply too much, a pea-sized amount is usually enough to cover the entire face. It is very effective for serious acne in patients with oily skin types, however. So, if this is you, then it worth pursuing. I am still using it -- although I can't use it every night (but I do have to use other medications because I also have rosacea).

Q: Does Tazorac acne cream exist in the UK?
I am an American student moving to Scotland later this month, and I was wondering if I will be able to obtain Tazorac from a UK pharmacy. Thanks for your help.

A: Hormonal, ye?

Q: I am currently using Tazorac cream, I was said that I am supposed to peel but nothing serious is happening!!!?
I use this cream for my keratosis pilaris on my arms for about 1 week and half, should I just wait for more time or should I contact my doctor do increase the dose?(couse the doctor said just use a tiny beat so you dont wanna get totally red). does anybody have any idea of what is going on?

A: Call the doctor to make sure but I think the visible skin peeling is actually just a side effect, not really a measure of whether or not its working. My roommate had to use it a few months ago, she was really worried about the skin on her face peeling but it never really happened. I've never used it, and she had it for a different condition I think, but I'd guess that its still working even without seeing any peeling- thats how it worked for her and her skin cleared up a LOT after taking it. You may be on a different dose or something so call the doc but it should be OK. http://www.tazorac.com/written_information_for_patients.aspx Here's the warnings/info sheet link in case it might help- peeling is listed as one of the most common side effects:)

Q: I'm on this acne cream called Tazorac and im on samples, now thats about to be gone i lost me prescription
What should i do if i lost my acne prescription paper and im on my last samples and now i need to buy the actual cream since my next appointment is around october, any dermatologist out there ?? help

A: take a raw potato, wash it, slice it into thin slices, rub the juice all over your face, let it dry and wash it off in the morning. thats all you have to do. you can do this as often as needed if its that bad but i will do it like 2x a week if i get a bad break out and it clears my skin fast. hows that for natural home remedy..cheap too..but most important it'll work

Q: Side effects of using tazorac cream, banzaclin gel,and doxycycline while pregnant?
i didn't see it on the sites of these medications there acne medication

A: If your unsure of the side effects its prob best to ask you OB this question. Good luck

Q: how long will it take to see some results with tazorac cream i have moderate acne?

A: My derm just prescribed me Tazorac. She said it will take 12 weeks to see full results but I started seeing improvement in just 2 weeks.

Q: Does Tazorac Cream clear skin for good?
Hi, I've been on accutane and it totally cleared my skin. After awhile my acne came back. I asked my doctor if i could go back on it but he said it just would make my skin dry and after my acne would come back. So he prescribed me tazorac cream. He said that since I have been on accutane my skin has changed and that its never going to get as bad as it was. he says that the tazorac should clear me up. Was he right about all this????

A: its a funny thing...yes it clears it up..but its a bi*** about it.. what your doctor prob didnt tell you is that it takes 6-8 weeks to even begin working. within those 6-8 weeks it brings all of your acne out. everything. you will look horrible for those 6-8 weeks.
