She is not fat at all.

Starting dose is 5mg daily and might be increase to 10mg?

A: Loss of appetite and diarrhea are known side effects, so it's safe to say it could lead to weight loss.
If the loss seems significant, it should be discussed with the prescribing doctor.

Q: why is marijuana not legal when alcohol and ciggarettes are?
a doctor Donald Taskin just finished a 30 year study that proves marijuana does not lead to cancer in the lungs, head, or neck.
Also people with alzheimer have an enzyme in the brain called acetylcholine or AChE. which does two things: 1. accelerates formation of abnormal protein clumps in the brain. 2. breaks down the brain chemical linked to memory.
the main compound of marijuana called thc inhibits this enzyme. THC could completely prevent this, donepezil and tacrine, the two most prescribed medication for alzheimers only reduce clumping by 7 to 22 percent.

A: Because the government can't tax it
Q: my friend was wondering what these drugs did to u?
alprazolam, meprazole, depakote, ziprasidone, omeprazolesimvastatin, benziropineibuprofen, donepezil, sertraline hcl, trazodone, and use it was a friend he found them in his medicine cabnet and didnt know what they do and i already tried drug info site and it comes up with riddles i want the stright forward facts
A: Most of these I recognize as anti depressants and anti anxiety medications.
I read through your second question and answered your third question. It appears that you friend is going into a new business or has some serious mental problems.
You have several choices here to make:
1. You can confront your roommate and ask if these meds are for him or does he have a new business on the side.
2. You can call his family & ask if he needs to take special medications, because you are worried about him.
3. You can report him to the housemother or your school counselor.
4. You can call DEA and report him.
5. You can get your friends together and have an intervention.
6. You can contact his friends and inquire about him.
&. Lastly:
NEVER- ever, LET ON TO THE WORLD, THAT YOU ARE THE ONE WHO TOLD...This can be very very bad for your reputation at school and or college.
7. Take a stand and make a decision.
I looked up all the medications on AOL and found them there, with all the info.

Q: why does everyone still think that pot kills brain cells?
its been proven false for years. in addition, there are a number of cannabinoids that have neuroprotective qualities to them. for example, the cannabinoid agonist (WIN 55,212-2) has been shown to slow the progression of alzheimer's even more so than the current medication used (donepezil and tacrine).
some other cannabinoids have been shown to prevent against other types of brain damage
(while i am not advocating pot use, i am advocating the use of cannbinoids for medical treatment)
yet, with all this research done and published in regular newspapers and peer-revied journals. many people still believe it literally kills brain cells. why is that?
if you think i am wrong, then provide evidence
"Marijuana affects your brain. THC (the active ingredient in marijuana) affects the nerve cells in the part of the brain where memories are formed."
think about this
yes of course it affects your brain, food affects your brain. but if it damaged nerve cells dont you think the goverenment would come out and say that exact statement?
in addition they have never said: "pot causes cancer" b/c there has never been a proven link (carcinogens or not if cannabinoids modulate the activation receptors then it will not cause cancer)
A: I sincerely believe that too much of anything can be harmful to your health. Including pot.
All I know is I knew several people who had that habit and smoked it a lot for decades. Quite a few of them ended up with brain tumours and died. I honestly think it was related to the pot.
Furthermore, smoking is not good for your lungs, whether it be tobacco or pot. In fact, pot has more harmful substances in it's smoke than tobacco.
Q: What is the therepeutic index and...?
the class of drug (I through VII) of donepezil (Aricept)?
This is an assignment for my pharmacology class. We were given a drug and have to look up everything about it. The only thing I'm stuck with is the class. All the questions says is "Class of Drug (I through VII)"
A: Donepezil hydrochloride is a reversible inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase, the predominant cholinesterase in the brain. The class therefore is Anticholinesterase inhibitor.
If you can give more info on the class I through VII , I may be able to help. We are likely in different countries.
Will help further if I can.
Q: Do Aussies use smart pills?
Hi there. I just read an article about the use of "smart pills" in the US and Britain. Does anyone know if people in Australia are using these chemical cognitive enhancers? Is it easy to obtain these drugs without a prescription? I read that they are popular with university students, doctors, stock brokers and other professionals as they boost your mental abilities. Apparently the most common are ritalin, donepezil and modafinil. I have stressful job and am thinking about trying them!
A: please consider taking some smart pills before you ask your next question.
Q: Alzheimer medicine?
I need details about how the discovery was made of certain drug drug. Specifically, was it discovered in Japan? Did they hypothesize the structure based on the Ache, or did they use a lead from a plant? below are more details - the generic name is donepezil hydrochloride
also known as Aricept, chemical name: (?±)-2,3-dihydro-5,6-dimethoxy-2-[[1-(phenylmethyl)-4-piperidinyl]methyl]-1H-inden-1-one hydrochloride (E2020)
A: It does look like it was discovered in Japan. I found this abstract which has all Japanese names on it. It doesn't sound like it came from a plant.
Here's the abstract and I don't pretend to understand it at all:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The most consistent change of neurotransmitter in the brain of Alzheimer's patients is the dramatic decrease of cholinergic innervation due to the loss of neurons in the basal forebrain. The most widely studied acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (AChEIs) have been physostigmine and tacrine. Physostigmine has very short duration, and tacrine has liability to hepatotoxicity. These are the defects of the inhibitors. Our objective was to find a new type of AChEIs that would overcome the disadvantages of physostigmine and tacrine. Through a random screening, we incidentally found an N-benzylpiperazine derivative which showed positive cholinergic behavior in rats. We replaced the N-benzylpiperazine moiety with N-benzylpiperidine moiety and found a dramatic increase in anti-AChE activity. Even after the replacement of an amide group with a ketone group the activity was held. Furthermore, the cyclic-amide derivative showed enhanced inhibitory activity. On the basis of these results, an indanone derivative was designed. Among these indanone derivatives, donepazil hydrochloride (E2020), brand name ARICEPT was found to be the most balanced compound. The clinical studies of donepezil hydrochloride demonstrated statistically significant effects on ADAS-cog (Alzheimer's Disease Assessment Scale cognitive sub.) and CIBIC Plus (Clinician's Interview-Based Impression of Change plus).
