Q: does jamaica sell these pills Mifepristone and Misoprostol?
Mifepristone (also known as the abortion pill, RU 486, Mifegyn, Mifeprex) and Misoprostol (also known as Cytotec, Arthrotec, Oxaprost , Cyprostol, Mibetec, Prostokos or Misotrol) and how much does it cost
A: Although abortion is illegal, these pills are available from most doctors. If your doctor won't prescribe them to you, ask him to refer you to a doctor who might be willing to assist. Most will assist since the law allows abortion where the pregnancy could "seriously threaten the health or life of the mother".
Personally i don't know what it costs, since abortion isn't really my thing. I don't believe it would be more than about JA$5000. A 'conventional' abortion is usually about $11,000, so the pill would be some fraction of that cost.

Q: yeast infections?
I take prednisone, arthrotec, losec, folic acid(all pills) daily, and a weekly injection of methotrexate...can one or the mixture be causeing recuring yeast infection?
A: Yes! The prednisone and the methotrexate are major sources of yeast infections. If you are getting oral thrush, (yeast in the mouth) your doctor can prescribe an anti- fungal preperation such as Nyastatin swish and swallow. If you are growing yeast other places, there are over the counter preperations that will kill or control this fungus. Keep in mind that we have yeast as a natural part of our body but there is a delicate balance of chemicals in the body naturally that keep it from over production. When something such as steroid use, certain antibiotics, certain diseases such as diabetes or any disease or condition that lowers the immune system can kill the good bacteria that normally keeps this yeast in check. There are also oral medictions that can be taken because yeast can also over grow in areas that are not visable such as in your blood stream. Ask you doc for an anti fungal that will best meet your needs.
Q: Help, MY MEDS!!?
can I take Gabapentin, Arthrotec 75, and Lyrica all together? MY doctors gave these meds, but they are from all different doctors! How do I know if I can take them together? I havent' took any yet and I wanted to know if anyone has took these and if it helped them.
A: Gabapentin and pregabalin(Lyrica) are very similar drugs. You should probably notify one of your physicians of your current medication. If you are taking these medications already ask your doctor if either they should be "weaned off" by decreasing the dose over about a week upon discontinuation. I would recommend since the gabapentin is generically available and not a controlled substance that would be a better option than pregabalin(Lyrica).
Arthrotec 75 on the other hand is a combination of a diclofenac and misoprostol. Diclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug(NSAID), helps with pain and inflammation (FYI...ibuprofen is an NSAID as well) and misoprostol helps prevent any stomach irritation or ulcers that may be caused by diclofenac.
Hope this helps. Please keep your doctors in touch with each other or at least run it by your pharmacist first. Have a great day.

Q: What is the next step drug wise for bulging discs?
Having a reoccurring back pain due to 2 bulging lower discs. The pain is worse than it ever has been. Previously I have used Tramadol & Diazepam to control the pain but this time it isn't working very well. I've also had the usual ibuprofen, diclofenac, arthrotec etc which also didnt do any good. It is really dibilitating, especially as I have an 18mth old who demands constant chasing & I am bed bound most of the day. I'm just wondering what other medication there is to relieve some of the pain.I am in the uk.
Thankyou
With regards to the answer about the Epidural, my back problem only started since the birth of my last child,I had an Epidural during the labour, which wasn't inserted correctly the at the first attempt. This left me wondering if this was the cause of the problem. After having an MRI scan & seeing the consultant they said it wasn't possible for the Epidural to have caused this. But it still leaves me with doubt & apprehension for another.
A: I had good experiences with an inversion table.
Q: medicine what could this be?
ok I am takin Arthrotec doc wanted me try this for pain, see if it helps! It's got something in it that will cause a preg. person to go into labor! I had a tubla ligation done so no chance i can be. But since I took this med just started it today. I have been having cramps (stomach and back) and I would go to the bathroom and a few mins. I felt like I was leaking. the cramps come and go. it feels as if I were in labor! and I am still leakin some sort of fluid! IDK whats goin on? I have called dr. just waitin for him to call back!
the fluid isn't leakin from me butt.
A: It impairs the production of certain prostaglandins, which can cause smooth muscle contraction - such as in the GI tract and uterus. You can get similar symptoms even if you're not pregnant. Some people are more sensitive than others.
Please see your doctor for more information.
Q: Do you know more than the doctors?
In october i got diagnosed with streptococcus and apparently it left me with some form of arthritis that the doctors have still not diagnosed. There is pain in every single one of my joints every day and sometimes the pain is so unbearable that all i can do is stay in bed and cry all day. I've been perscribed naprosyn, and arthrotec...along with tylonol, advil, and aleve...but nothing takes the pain away.
The doctors predicted that it would go away after six months but it has now been 11 months and the pain doesn't seem to be getting any better.
I've seen a rheumetologist and even he doesn't seem to have an explanation or a diagnosis.
Has anyone experienced anything like this?
Also, I would really like to know if anyone has any suggestions on what I should do in terms of the pain. Should I just ask for stronger medication?
Please help
A: I've been waiting over 7 years to recover from a spine operation.. Things don't always go as they predict. You should look into a pain management program. It will provide you with the best medication and non medications options. It's what has kept me going for 7 years without having to take massive amounts of opiates. Q: My New Girl Friend Takes Too Many Drugs.?
I have been dating a woman who is 41 years old for about 3 months. I am staying at her house tonight while she works. She has a Lazy Susan thing full of pills on the kitchen table. I am not being nosy but worried if I she be concerned if any of the following drugs are used to treat STD's or communicable dieases. I would look them all up individually but she sometimes uses my laptop and would see them in the search history. I will list them if they are something I should be concerned about let me know. I don't think she has anything but is adamant that we use condoms although she has had her tubes tied. She told me it was because she was diabetic and suspectible to infections is why. I just want to be sure.

Q: Help with pain and clicking in hip?
I was involved in a car accident just over 10 weeks ago. I was sitting in the front passenger seat of my friends, with my left arm and leg resting on the door, when another car collided with use, they hit the door and Tyre where I was sitting, the car that hit us was slightly bigger. On trying to open the door I found I would not even open halfway. The car was later written off. I felt no pain immediately after the crash but my shoulder and neck started to hurt within the following half an hour, I was diagnosed with a sprained shoulder and whiplash injuries due to the impact of the car hitting us, I was advised to take ibuprofen and paracetamol, a little after I got home I noticed a pain in my left leg where the top of my leg and hip join, the pain is an aching sharp pain which makes, standing, sitting and sleeping uncomfortable.
I went to the doctor a few days later but he said not to worry about it. Over the next week the whiplash and shoulder pain was getting better but the pain in my leg seemed if anything worse the doctor bent my leg and said it is not nerve damage it must be soft tissue damage, a few days later I discovered not only did I have pain but the joint in which I have pain is clicking when I walk if you put your hand over the area you can feel it with every step.
6 weeks after the accident I had to see a private doctor through the insurance company who advised physiotherapy and said if that didn't work I may need an operation. I went back to my own doctor who referred me over a week ago to local hospital but only after I made a fuss and told them the private doctor had recommended it.
I am young (only 21) and have no previous hip/leg complaints.
I have not been x-rayed or scanned and it seems the doctors are reluctant to diagnose or advise me as to what my injury is or how to manage it.
I was prescribed Arthrotec 8 weeks ago and Dicofenac sodium last week when the other medicine run out.
Does anyone know what this pain maybe?
How can I control manage the pain?
What is the likely hood of having to have an operation and what does this involve?
I have had this pain for more than 10 weeks now, isn't this a long time to suffer from soft tissue damage?
I was off work 2 weeks with the pain and have been unable to go back full time due to this leg pain (I work with children) will I be bale to return to work full time?
Please do not tell me to go back to the doctors as I have been several times and they are not really helping they are vague when I ask questions and are reluctant to help or advise me as to how I can help control the pain and treatment I may need.
Thank you
A: The only thing I can advise is that you try a chiropractor (mine charges £25 per session)
I was involved in a serious car accident and had severe whiplash and broke my collar bone and since having regular appointments with the chiropractor my symptoms have eased alot - worth a try !
Good luck
Q: Any help please?
Im so worried but I cant call NHS direct cos my hubby hates it.
Ive had pain for a while in my chest and shoulder and today my mum gave me a tablet of hers called Arthrotec. Ive only found out it contains misoprostol which is a drug used for induction of labour and abortion.
I thought I may be pregnant but hubby is telling me not to get my hopes up and now Im so worried as fluid loss Ive had for over a week was tinted. If Im going to miscarry when will it happen and what are my chances.
And no stupid answers please. Im genuinly upset and been trying to conceive for 4 years now.
A: Im sorry but I think you should make an appointment with your GP and get yourself checked out.
FYI; Tinted fluid loss can be normal. Occasionally it can be bits of blood left over from your last period that can take weeks to leave your body.
Q: Need Help! Crazy Symptoms after Meds were taken. 10 pts 4 B.A.!?
I was prescribed Arthrotec 50mg 2x daily. I am a 21 year old female and this is supposed to help with an arthritis related injury. The first dose i took of this i had severe stomach cramps as if i was getting my period, but i wasn't. My second dose today, which was 2 days later since the side effects kinda scared me, i had the horrible cramps again as well as light vaginal bleeding. I am no longer going to take this medication, but has anyone ever heard or experienced this before??
Thanks for any help in advance.
after speaking to the pharmacist and my doctor after the first dose, they both confirmed the cramps to be normal but didn't mention anything about the vaginal bleeding. They also said that the symptoms would lessen after each dose, but the symptoms seemed to have worsened. The pain increased and added on more symptoms, Diarhea, Vaginal Bleeding and an increase in B.P.
A: I was on the same drug a few years back and had all the same symptoms, except the bleeding, I'm a guy. It is the medication, are you taking it with food?? Up in Canada now it is one of the less prescribed drugs for arthritis now, have you tried Celebrex, or Naproxen? Much easier on the stomach and work much better. The naproxen you can get without a Rx (ALEVE) good luck.
Q: How Can I Get Medical Attention?
After returning to Canada from a trip in April, I started having pain in my right buttock. I went to my doctor and he said it would take a year to get an MRI, so I went to a private-pay clinic and had one done. The results showed mild lumbar degeneration, but I had one done in the USA 2 yrs ago that showed multi-level bulging of discs. I have had a nerve conduction and vascular test done and they were normal.......but the pain has gotten much worse. I can only stand for a few minutes. My pain level is a 9 (1-10 scale) at night. I have been in extreme pain for months. I have paid thousands of dollars on physio-therapy/acupuncture/massage therapy/chiropractic because my doctor referred me to these alternative specialists. I live in a small Ontario town and I am unable to make my doctor understand the severity of my pain. My Dr gave me a referral to a neurologist, but the appt was a yr away (it will be in June). I am 59 yrs old and have lost my life. I have stenosis in my cervical spine and I think I may have lumbar stenosis, but my doctor is doing nothing. He did give me two cortisone injections this month, but that was after 9 months of onset. I am taking Lyrica/Arthrotec and 30mg Oxycontin per day. I do not want to live if I have to exist like this. How can I get help? Our small hospital is not well-equipped and the emregency room is not an option. If enyone has any information on how to get medical help, please let me know.
A: This is extreme, but if you're suicidal, that might move your problem up to "serious" in their eyes. I'm in the US, and have no insurance, but I had a situation where I was sent home from the emergency room with a problem that would have killed me overnight. I went back, and when the refused to admit me, I said, "It would be suicide to send me home". Now, I didn't mean I'd kill myself, but they thought that was my threat. Next thing I knew, I was checked in, and I had my needed surgery three days later. (They had me on a three day suicide watch, but at least I was there, being cared for.) Some version of this may work for you. You're desperate, so you may have to try desperate measures. Best of luck.
