Q: yasmin 28?
I take yasmin 28 birth control and I had sex with my boyfriend one night and I forgot to take my pill that night, now im really moody for some reason and I dont ever feel happy, whats wrong.....
I was also wondering if you had sex and took one of your pills but missed like 2 after that does the first pill you took keep you from getting pregnant or do you need them all
A: The moodiness could have come as a result of forgetting to take the missing pill.
If you have been taking the pill for a while (everyday) and missed two you should still be protected but to get full protection all the pills must be taken.
I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
Q: What happens if you get pregnant and took the whole pack of Yasmin 28?
I missed three pills during the end of the second week of a 28 day pack of Yasmin, if my cycle is normal I was fertile during these days, I found my pack and continued. I got great advice for my question earlier and I am thankful, but i failed to say that those three days I had sex and that I did not take the pills because I was not at home and forgot to take them with me. I continued the pills when I got back and after the advice I got i will finish the pack, but what happens to people who continue the whole pack of birthcontrol and then find themselves pregnant, does it cause defects or anything like that?
A: Hormonal contraceptives do not cause birth defects. If it's been more than 2 weeks since you had unprotected sex, you can test for pregnancy. Remember though, it is so early that the chances of a false negative is high but, false positives are not common and cannot be caused by being on the pill. If you test and you test positive, you can go off the pill, see a doctor and figure out what you are going to do with your pregnancy. You have three options, keeping the baby, adoption and abortion. Each option has it's pros and cons. You'll have to look deeply into your situation to figure out which choice is best for you. Good luck!
Q: can I skip my period if I am currenly taking Yasmin 28?
I'm going on vacation and realized that I'll be on my period. In the past I've been able to skip it by starting a new pack of pills instead of taking my placebo's. Will that work with Yasmin 28?
A: i take yasmin an hav found that although iv carried on takin it i still come on, ur body may react differernt to mine though. goodluck.
Q: How to take Yasmin (28 day) birth control?
I was prescribed the 28 day Yasmin pill (7 white pills). Can someone please give me step by step instructions. It's so confusing. I just started my period Do I start taking the white pills and when do i start taking the yellow? Thank you.
10 point will be rewarded as soon as I get a answer
A: You have 21 pills of one color and 7 of another. Start taking your pills on this coming Sunday. Start with one of the 21 pills and take it everyday at the same time! Its very important that it is the same time everyday!!! After you have finished your 21 pills. (it will be a saturday) You can take the last 7 or you can just throw them out. They are sugar pills you only take them to help keep track of your birth control. You will get your period on the monday or tuesday your could get it on the wed though. Start your new pack on the sunday after you get your period! Good Luck
Q: Anyone get yasmin 28 for unbalanced homones?
I got this pill about a week ago cause i was suffering from insomnia real bad from my unbalanced hormones and it was really getting to me i became irritable, angry and all that good stuff, so the doc put me on Yasmin 28, as of today my moods seem a bit better but it hasn't helped the insomnia any thoughts on how long it could take if it actually works?
A: Yasmin is one of the most powerful pills so if it hasn't worked already, I wouldn't wait for it to :(.
Q: Does anyone know the average cost of yasmin 28 birth control?
my insurance has not kicked in at my new job, and i was wondering if anyone new how much yasmin 28 birth control cost on average with no insurance.
A: For 3 packs of the 28 pill packets, it's $65.00 ..... so roughly around $21 - or so per pack.
Q: Has anyone ever had a period 3 days late on Yasmin 28?
Has anyone had an issue with their period being late on Yasmin 28? I haven't missed any pills and am just a little concerned. I know it's highly unlikely that I am pregnant due to not missing pills, it's still just nerve-wracking.
Oh, I forgot to mention, tonight will be my 4th sugar pill (started them on Friday night). Last month I had it by now, urgh! I hate being a woman sometimes!
A: It is commmon to miss a period while taking any form of birth control pill. But since there is a possiblitly of pregnancy I would test the booklet says if you miss 2 periods you might be pregnant so wait and test,It is highly unlikely but always possible.
Q: Have you ever been on Yasmin 28 and missed 2active pills in a row?
I missed three pills during my second row of active pills because I was out of town and I forgot them at home, when I came back I resumed my pills and three days after I noticed a light pink spotting only when I swiped after using the toilet. I had unprotected sex with my husband and I should also mention that I only started birthcontrol a month before this happened, so this was my 2nd package of Yasmin 28. On the first pack, my period came two days before the last inactive pill, but I am now having a problem because of the skipped pills;I was due for my period on Nov.5th and all I got was little tissue particles in my urine but no period. I did notice a bit of brown residue during the time I noticed my slight pink spotting but the pink was gone after that one day and the brown continued for a few more days. I know I am not pregnant because I tested negative a few times, but if you have had a similar problem, when did you finally get your period??? I am now 2 weeks 2 days. Help!
A: Your birth control isn't going to work because you're not taking it correctly. After missing 3 pills, if you're a Sunday starter, you need to continue taking them until Sunday, then throw the pack out and start a new one that day. If you're a Day 1 starter, you have to throw out the pill pack and start over that day. You're then supposed to be using a back up method for at least a week.
Missing pills will cause breakthrough bleeding (which was the light pink spotting you noticed) normally and could also cause you to miss your next period. It's still possible that you're pregnant, though. Your period should return when you're on the inactive pills again. If it doesn't, you need to see your doctor.
Q: I missed three pills at the end of the second week of a Yasmin 28 pack?
I found the pack and continued after the missed dosage, I had spotting for about 4 days now and I am the end of the third week. Should I continue to take the last week of the pack or should I just wait for my period?
A: Put your pills by your alarm clock.
Q: Is there a generic available for the yasmin 28 birth control pill?
A: Yasmin currently has no generic. What makes Yasmin unique is the progestin drosprirenone and currently Bayer/Berlex holds the patent to exclusively use this progestin. Both Yasmin and Yaz contain the progestin drospirenone and there are no generics available for either.
If you want a pill that has a generic, Ortho Tri Cyclen has many generic forms including Tri-Previfem, TriNessa, and TriSprintec which are extremely affordable.
Q: What are your experiences with Yasmin 28 Birth Control?
Sorry, I've already asked this, I just haven't gotten as many answers as I was hoping for. Thanks! :)
A: when you first start taking birth control most woman feel funny, like they are about to get their period. you get moody and hungry and you may get a break out. but this is all because your adding hormones to your body and disrupting the balance. once your body gets use to it you will be fine. not all birth controls are the same, they have different levels of different hormones. but they all basically do the same... i am sure someone will tell you that it made them fat.. no... hamburgers made them fat. birth control does not make you gain weight.

Q: Yasmin 28, Did it cause me to have a hormonal imbalance?
I took Yasmin for 3 years 18-21 and have now been off of it for 1 full year. I have horrible acne, increased facial hair growth, and weight gain. I have been tested for PCOS....doc says I don't have it. But acne is not something that runs in my family. Did anyone else have this problem? What are opinions on Yasmin 28 and BC in general? What herbs can I take to make my hormones balance themselves out. How do they work?
A: There have been a series of reports in the media lately to the effect that the newer low-dose birth control pills are "safe." While it's true that they're safer than the old higher dose pills they are still very dangerous. Most of them are made either with just a testosterone-like progestin called 19-nor-testosterone, or a progestin and a small amount of estrogen. That means just for starters that you're getting dosed with a progestin every month, which blocks real progesterone with all its benefits from its receptors. You're also getting some extra estrogen every month, which is the last thing most women need.
If you go to an ob-gyn he will most likely prescribe more (or different ) hormones to help you, so in this case you might want to try alternative medicine and see if it helps you, if it doesn't then you will have to go to the doc.
I suggest you find a complimentary medicine doctor where you live or check www.camaweb.org and give it a try.
Q: Can quitting Yasmin 28 make you stop having periods?
i'm just wondering if it can have long-term effects on your body after you stop using it
A: If you are on Yasmin to regulate your periods and make your body have them(like I am) then you can stop having periods when you come off the pills. However this can do more damage to your fertility in the long run. Also some women who have hormonal imbalances and are not on the pill can ovulate and not have a period to shed the blood and uterine wall, this causes thickening of the uterine wall and can lead to endometriosis and cancer. And trust me you don't want to have the biopsy to find out. Man that is painful.
Q: I was taking Yasmin 28 for the last year, and I stopped, is it normal for my period to be late?
I stopped taking after my last period, which was 4 weeks ago.
Thank you! :) I'm not trying to get pregnant, my boyfriend had a vasectomy.
A: if you were having regular periods, then no its not normal. but if your period had stopped while you were on the pill, then it could take time to come back. did you stop taking the pill after the whole month cycle of pills were done, because if not, you could be pregnant. (it happened to me that way.)
Q: Yasmin 28 and emotional upset?
I started taking Yasmin 28 to control my periods that come every two weeks. I have been taking this pill now for about 3 weeks. After taking the pill for a few days, I started having panic attacks, guilty feelings over the silliest things, uncontrollable crying and it's been unbearable. I asked my Family dr about this and he said that since I had been on it for a few days (at that time) he said it was not the pills. Can anyone out there help? I dont know what to do.
A: I wouldn't be surprised if it was the new drugs - you can get immediate reactions I believe despite what your doctor says. Go back and see him.
However try the following steps for panic and mood swings:
1.Breathe properly - if you control your breathing, you control panic. As soon as you notice the signs of anxiety, check your breathing: breathe in slowly through your nose pushing your tummy out (to the count of 5 or so). Breathe out slowly and for a bit longer (to the count of 7 or so) through your mouth. Do not breathe rapidly or shallowly (in the chest area). This will soon restore the balance of oxygen and you will feel a lot better.
2. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy! CBT is proven to be the most effective thing for panic attacks and social anxiety. It takes a bit of work, but it is super effective. You can speak to your doctor about taking a course or you can take a course for free online at: http://www.livinglifetothefull.com/ It has been funded by NHS Scotland and has had great results thus far.
3. Try relaxation exercise tapes (progressive muscular relaxation). They really help if you practise often enough. This site has instructions on how to do it without the tapes (and other useful info): http://www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/resources/minipax.cfm?mini_ID=23
With each of these steps, practise makes perfect. I hope this helps and you feel better soon. Best of luck!
