Q: Yaz!!!!!!!!!?
Ok so im 17. i am interested in taking the birth control Yaz. I dont want to take it to prevent pregnancy, cause I plan on staying a virgin until Iam married. But I want to take it to have a more regular period and not so bad cramps. Right now every period i have is late and I get cramps so bad on the first day I have to stay in bed. So from experience does anyone think Yaz is right for me or have used it or are using it now.
A: Well you should talk to your doctor about it but in my opinion I would try something else. Yaz was the first birth control pill that I went on and it was awful. The commercial says that it helps with moody-ness but it just made mine worse. It was so bad to the point that I was crying all the time and so depressed and never wanted to get out of bed. But yet again every girl is different so just see what happens you can always change! I hope I helped.
Q: yaz??!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
i was looking at stuff in my aunts house then i saw this bin and it had yaz in it.. i dont even know what that is .. i think its birth control? anyways ... if my cousin whos likee 18 is taking it does that mean shes having sex
A: Yaz is designed to help out with many of the symptoms of periods...along with ACNE!!! so, it could be either one. =)
Q: Just started Yaz birth control. How long does it normally take to see breast growth as a side effect?
I'm on my second week of Yaz, my breasts feel a tiny bit fuller and a little sore. I was wondering, for those of you who've experienced breast growth as a side effect of Yaz, how long did it take?
Will the new size last for as long as I'm on the pill?
A: You might see some temporary response to the hormones within the next week to a month. However, don't get used to it. In the vast majority of cases, the breasts will reduce to their normal pre-pill size (which is often not more than 1/2 cup size) within a few months. This is because your body's figured out your not pregnant after all, and so stops all the things it would do to make you ready for a baby.
The pill works BTW, by tricking your body into thinking it's pregnant...hence the nausea, sore breasts, moodiness, etc.
Q: Can Yaz make you miss your period or start late?
It's my first time on birth control and my period hasn't shown up. Can Yaz birth control make you late or miss your period? (I am not pregnant at all.)
If so, is this common or should I go to the doctor's immediately?
A: YES IT CAN!!! It makes you have shorter/lighter periods. And sometimes none at all. That's why I stuck to my trimness low. I like when I'm regular because I am sexually active.
Q: How long until Yaz birth control is effective against pregnancy?
I began taking Yaz birth control a few weeks ago. According to the included pamphlet, it is safe to have unprotected sex 7 days after beginning the pill. I waited 11. Is the pill completely effective after a week for certain, or is there a chance of pregnancy?
Thanks
A: Most doctors will advise waiting until your second pack to have unprotected sex so that the hormones will be completely in your system.
Q: How soon is YAZ effective when taken during the middle of a cycle?
If first taken during the middle of a menstrual cycle, how soon is YAZ effective as a contraceptive?
A: The rule of thumb with any birth control pill (including YAZ) is taking it for a full month before it's truly effective.
Good luck!
Q: How long does it take for Yaz to kick in as a useful contraceptive?
I have been taking Yaz birth control for about a week at the same time every day. How many days do I have to take it for it to become 99.9% effective?
A: at leaste a full week. also dont miss a day or take it at diffrent times. always take it at the same time.

Q: I didn't start taking YAZ the day of my period, am i still protected from pregnancy?
I have a question. I have been using YAZ for almost a month already . I have been using it for acne purposes. I didn't start when i got my period because my period is irregular. I started on a Wednesday and just kept going on from there. Taking it at the same time every morning. Am i still protected from getting pregnant if i didnt start the day of my period? Or what? Please answer someone thankyou.
A: Once you start taking BC you periods become regulated. So your irregular period should happen when you take the "off" pills.
You should always use a condom when you change or start BC for the first month, because it takes at least one cycle to get it all working correctly.
And of course, BC doesn't protect you from STDs.
Got your email:
I am not a nurse or a doctor--I just looked up some stuff on the internet.
I looked up the link below, and it says you should use something else to prevent pregnancy the first 2 weeks, so maybe you are ok--I think regular BC says to use something else (condom) for the first month.
If you had waited until you started your period, it would have been more likely to sync up correctly.
HOWEVER--since you said you are only taking it for acne, the doctor probably didn't counsel you on starting it for optimum pregnancy protection.
You should get your period when you are on the "reminder" pills.
I wouldn't worry until then.
Remember to take your pill at the SAME time EVERY day.
Also, if you go on antibiotics, it will not be effective. So just use a condom if that happens--but still take the pills.

Q: How long does it take for Yaz to become effective?
I just started taking Yaz last month. Today, I took the 4th pill in my second pack. I ended up having unprotected sex today, but he didn't finish inside of me. Is there any chance of pregnancy? I started taking it to regulate my period, so the first time I took it wasn't on the first day of my period, like it's supposed to be. Would that have any effect, either?
A: if you start taking the pill in the first five days of your cycle (the first day of your period is day one), you are protected IMMEDIATELY.
If you start at any other point in your cycle, you are protected after SEVEN DAYS of active pills. There is no need to wait a month, a cycle, two months, etc., etc. You are protected after seven days of active pills. According to Planned Parenthood:
"If you start the combination pill within five days after the start of your period, take the first active pill of the first pack. You will not need to use a back up method of birth control. You are protected against pregnancy immediately.
If you start the combination pill at any other time during your menstrual cycle, take the first active pill of the first pack. Use another method of birth control if you have vaginal intercourse during the first week of combination pill use — protection will begin after seven days."
It is really frustrating to me that people keep posting that the pill takes months to become effective! It doesn't! Read the pill insert and the links I provided!
Q: What emotional side effects does Yaz or any birth control have on you?
Before I was prescribed Yaz I had some emotional ups and downs during my menstrual cycle. Now that I'm on Yaz I feel like a train wreck waiting to happen. I have one good week out of the month and the rest of my days are filled with anger, depression, sadness, and pity. I have done things that I never thought I was never capable of doing.
A: I have never used Yaz but did use its sister product Yasmin for 6 months back in 2006 and one side effect that I had while on it was that of crying very easily for a few days for no particular reason. After I started taking my B Complex again then I did just fine until I had to go off of it for a different reason.
Q: Will discountinuing Yaz birth control relieve side effects or cause weight gain?
I have been on Yaz birth control for about 7 months now in hopes to clear up my acne and decrease my cramps. Sure enough my face is clear and my cramps are gone. However, after extreme side effects such as: weight gain, skin rash, breast tenderness, and mood swings, I decided it would be best to come off the pill. Has anyone experienced any problems with coming off Yaz. Is it possible to drop the weight gained on the Yaz when coming off? Thank you all!
A: WOW! I had the exact same symptoms as you, as well as horrible migraines, and nausea. I was on Yaz for almost 4 months and had to switch back to ortho tri cyclen....I did lose the weight I had gained with Yaz...it took about a month or so to lose it. The reason I gained weight on Yaz was because I was nauseous all day and could only eat at dinner. Therefore, sleeping on my one BIG meal of the day (the worst thing I could have done!) caused my weight gain, but I would have been sick if I ate during the day.
Hopefully for you, getting off of yaz will help you tremendously. Although everyone reacts differently, I felt better emotionally within a week of being off of that mess!! Good luck!!
Q: Has anyone had a good experience with the yaz birth control?
It's my first time using birth control, I decided to use the yaz pill I've been using it for a week so far no side effects I feel normal, I was searching for reviews but they just talk really bad about the pill? Some say it's the "poison" pill has anyone had a good experience? Also is it true that later on when you want to conceive your baby will be at risk of having birth defects? Does anyone know if it's true? Will the pill affect my health later on in my life?
A: I am currently on month three of Yaz, and will be starting my fourth pack in a little less than two weeks. I too read all of those scary stories online, and I worried myself to death. So far, I love Yaz! The first month and a half was rough because I had some serious nausea, headaches, and overall nasty feeling. It went away during my second pack, and I feel great! The only thing that still bugs me is that my breasts have been constantly sore since I started taking the pill. I also grew an entire cup size. Yaz is a life saver though... it's so nice to not have to worry about getting pregnant!
I haven't heard anything about birth defects after getting off the pill. I've heard that for the first couple months after you stop taking Yaz that it may be hard to conceive. The pill shouldn't have any effect on your life that isn't mentioned in the little book that comes with it. :)
Don't freak yourself out about what other people's experiences are with a pill. Everyone's bodies are different, and will react to pills in different ways. Good luck.
Q: How long does it take for the birth control pill Yaz to take effect?
How long will it take before I am protected from pregnancies while using the Yaz pill?
But I'm not a day of starter or a sunday starter...I fell asleep to early sunday so I took it monday. Am I still protected at all?
A: It will take about 7 days for it to protect you against pregnancy. I've always been told to wait up until a month just to be sure and have always used that as my rule of thumb. It's not necessary to wait longer than that.
Q: does the birth control yaz make you gain weight or make your boobs grow?
I want to take the birth control pill yaz for acne and such but i'm worried it will make me gain weight or make my boobs grow. My boobs are big enough!
A: it can make you gain weight, just depends on the person

I am on day 4 of Yaz birth control. So far I haven't had experienced any kind of symptoms.I don't want to either lol.I was just wondering.
